InSpirited Hands

“Your hand opens and closes, opens and closes.

If it were always a fist or always stretched open, you would be paralysed.

Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding,

the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as birds' wings.”

 ― Jelaluddin Rumi

During our May InSpirited Aging we explored movement using our hands. Leading our dance, not moving them, only moving our hands and so on. We wrote about what we noticed and we made art based on our dance of the hands. In our conversation together we spoke of gratitude for what our hands allow us to do and express, of taking our hands for granted, of the simplicity and grace of our movement with hands.
