Exploring ‘what it is to dance’ again today at Sit Walk Dance. We decided to be ‘perverse’ and see what happened if we didn’t dance, i.e. we paused. We only moved again when we felt the impulse to do so. For some it was the music that became irresistible, for others their bodies quite naturally released into dance with the breath.
Allowing a pause gives the body a chance to catch up, to play with movement, to not have to move all the time. The thinking body can be outmanoeuvred by the feeling body.
